Woman pleads not guilty in death of toddler

RENO -- A Reno woman has pleaded not guilty to charges in the death of a toddler that police say was caused by a methadone overdose.

Gina Lindquist, 50, was silent in Washoe District court Thursday but Judge David Hardy entered a not guilty plea for her on a charge of child neglect, according to a Reno Gazette-Journal report.

According to court documents, Lindquist was taking prescribed methadone tablets while baby-sitting year-old Samuel Sharber in her room at the Vacation Motor Lodge in 2009.
