Woman struck while crossing street near UNLV

A woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition after being struck by truck while crossing the street near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus Thursday night.

The woman was crossing Maryland Parkway in a crosswalk south of East University Avenue about 9:25 p.m. when she was hit by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, Las Vegas police said.

She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
