WORLD SERIES OF POKER BLOG: Best female finish since 2000 assured at Main Event

Much of the attention Monday in the Main Event focused on the two remaining female players, Gaelle Baumann of France and Elisabeth Hille of Norway, who are vying to become the first woman to reach the Main Event final table since Barbara Enright accomplished the feat in 1995.

With 14 players remaining in the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em World Championship, both remain in contention and are seated at the ESPN feature table; the first time at the tournament they found themselves a few seats apart.

It is assured that woman will have the highest finish at the Main Event since Annie Duke place 10th in 2000.

Bauman is in 14th place with 3,045,000 in chips while Hille is in ninth with 11,710,000 in chips.
