WRANGLERS FINISH OFF PHOENIX, WIN 4-3

The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Phoenix RoadRunners 4-3 on Saturday night in front of 6,717 fans at the Orleans Arena. Defenseman Jason Krischuk scored his seventh goal of the season with 4:06 remaining in regulation, propelling the Wranglers to their 47th win of the season. Forwards Marco Peluso, Peter Ferraro and Shawn Limpright each scored in the team's final game of the regular season. Rookie goalie Tyler Sims picked up his first professional win with 20 saves for Las Vegas. With Stockton's overtime loss in Utah, the Thunder clinched the number 8 seed and the right to play Las Vegas in the opening round of the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Las Vegas will host Game 1 of the National Conference Quarter Finals on Friday, April 11th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.

In the first period, Phoenix jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Dusty Jamieson tallied his 25th goal of the season off a breakaway at 15:13. Right wing Peter Ferraro tallied his team-record 36th goal of the season at 16:26, tying the game 1-1 after one period of play.

In the second period, the RoadRunners regained the lead with Mathieu Melanson's 30th goal of the season at 4:58. Las Vegas countered to even the score 2-2 at 17:06 as Marco Peluso scored his fifth goal of the season. Forwards Kelly Czuy and Adam Miller each assisted on the goal.

In the third period, the Wranglers pulled in front with their first lead of the night at 9:34. Left wing Shawn Limpright deflected a puck in front of the Phoenix net for his 12th goal of the season. Phoenix tied the game 3-3 with Ryan Walsh's 14th goal of the season at 13:08. The Wranglers scored the game-winning goal with a shot from the right point by Jason Krischuk at 15:54. Miller and Peluso set up the tally and 4-3 Las Vegas win.

Las Vegas will also host Game 1 of the National Conference Quarter Finals on Friday, April 11th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena. Game Two will be at the Orleans Arena on Saturday, April 12th at 7:05 pm.
