Former Mayor Oscar Goodman sponging off the taxpayers

In response to your Aug. 29 editorial about Oscar Goodman’s taxpayer-funded rides around town:

The former mayor is getting paid $72,000 by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for being a “goodwill ambassador.” He seems to be a rich and wealthy person from his years as a mob lawyer. He probably doesn’t even need the $72,000 with the income from the restaurant at the Plaza.

I really don’t remember former mayors Ron Lurie or Jan Jones stooping to rip off the taxpayers, but neither one is a cheapskate. Jan Jones wouldn’t stoop to that — she is so classy. And Ron Lurie is above being a mob follower.

In other words, Oscar Goodman is a schnorrer — and that is not a compliment. It means “sponger” in Yiddish. He can always use ridesharing services or a cab and pay for it himself.
