LETTER: Lending bias

In response to your Wednesday story “Politicians seek review of credit union”: Credit analysis includes prior credit history and job stability. Black and Hispanic applicants have statistically poorer history in these categories, which results in higher denial.

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto needs to acknowledge reality instead of trying to force equal outcomes in credit approval. No racial discrimination or bias involved. Not rocket science.
