51s succumb to Bees’ big sixth inning

A four-run sixth-inning enabled Salt Lake to snap a 2-2 tie en route to an 8-5 victory over the 51s in a Pacific Coast League game in Salt Lake City on Tuesday night.

Las Vegas right-hander Rey Gonzalez and Salt Lake's Daniel Davidson were locked in a pitcher's duel in the sixth when the Bees erupted for four runs. Gary Patchell's two-run homer was the big blow in the uprising that knocked Gonzalez out of the game.

Salt Lake tacked on two more runs in the eight. The 51s loaded the bases and scored three runs in the ninth, on a wild pitch and two groundouts to make the final respectable.

Chris Aguila, J.P. Arencibia, Jeremy Reed and Jorge Padilla had two hits each to pace Las Vegas' nine-hit attack.

Gonzalez allowed nine hits in 5 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out four.
