Mountain Ridge improves to 2-0 in Little League West regional

Winning pitcher Austin Kryszczuk hit a two-run homer in the first inning Sunday to help Mountain Ridge to a 6-5 victory over Chandler (Ariz.) National in the Little League West Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, Calif.

Trailing 3-2, Mountain Ridge scored four runs in the fifth inning on three hits (by Dominic Clayton, Josh Zuehlsdorff and Bradley Stone), two errors and a wild pitch.

Kryszczuk earned the win in relief, giving up one earned run on two hits and one walk and striking out two in 2 1/3 innings.

Mountain Ridge, which improved to 2-0 in the tournament, next plays Northern California-based Pacifica American at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
