Mountain Ridge beats Chicago 13-2 in LLWS

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The game that was supposed to be a nail-biter turned into a rout.

Mountain Ridge Little League continued to put on a show at the Little League World Series on Sunday, blowing past the Great Lakes champion from Chicago 13-2 at Lamade Stadium.

Mountain Ridge now advances to the winner’s bracket final on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. PDT on ESPN against the winner of Sunday night’s game between the Southwest and Mid-Atlantic champions.

Mountain Ridge jumped to a 4-0 lead on Bradley Stone’s first-inning grand slam Sunday and was never threatened behind starting pitcher Brennan Holligan, who allowed just two hits in the mercy-rule victory.

The team from Las Vegas, now one win from playing for the United States championship, hit five home runs.
