Horse Racing: Today at Del Mar, Nov. 26

Post Time 12:30 p.m.

Race 1 – 1 mile, Purse $21,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
6 Good Looking – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; the best race of her life was a dirt sprint for a $50K price tag.
2 Heed to Speed – Claimed by trainer Peter Miller in her career debut; he must have seen or heard something as she ran a very even race in that debut.
Long Shot – 3 Exit Sixty Slew

Race 2 – 1 mile, Purse $28,000, Optional claiming $50,000, 2-year-olds
3 Sugar Buzz – Showed good tactical speed to sit a nice trip in last; was claimed two races ago by trainer Dan Hendricks, still has lots of room to improve.
6 Twirling Tiger – One thing I like is horses that trained and raced at Presque Isle Downs; makes his SoCal debut under trainer Kristin Mulhall.
Long Shot – Nicaradalic Rocks

Race 3 – 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 6 feet), Purse $52,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
6 Untouchable U – Has run two strong dirt sprint races and now tries a turf route for the first time; has the pedigree to handle the stuff for trainer Eddie Truman.
12 Margaret Reay – Has shown the ability in turf routes to either go for the early lead or to sit a trip; only part I don't like is the parking lot post.
Long Shot – 2 gift of a Star

Race 4 – 6 ½ furlongs, Purse $19,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Smooth Talker – Draw a line thru last and her prior races look fine; she had a very good Del Mar resume until that last race clunker.
5 Moscato Girl – Has good early speed and might be able to clear if ridden aggressively from the start; jockey Tyler Baze is as good a gate rider as there is.
Long Shot – 6 Shakeitupbetty

Race 5 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 6 feet), Purse $53,000, Optional claiming $20,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
7 Jade With Envy – This is the lowest class level she has raced at in some time; like that she is reunited with the main man Rafael Bejarano.
2 Tiz a Classy Lass – Turned in a brilliant win last time in a career best effort; the key will be if there is a repeat effort in her system.
Long Shot – 4 Peggy Sue's Loose

Race 6 – 6 furlongs, Purse $53,000, Optional claiming $80,000, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
9 Patriotic Diamond – She has a powerful late kick, but not a drop of early speed; trainer Patrick Biancone adding blinkers of to try to alleviate the slow starts.
2 Dragon Flower – I'll make you a $2 bet, she will go off lower than her 10/1 morning line odds; she has good early speed and fits well class wise with these.
Long Shot – 1 Sambamzajammin

Race 7 – 1 ½ miles (turf, rail at 6 feet), $250,000 Hollywood Turf Cup, 3-year-olds and up
2 Up With the Birds – Trainer Graham Motion has shipped out a bushel of talented runners to Del Mar; not sure if they will stay, but there certainly all fit in well.
6 The Pizza Man – Was one of the top choices among the American horses in the Breeders' Cup Turf; he ran his race but could finish no better than fifth.
Long Shot – 14 Big John B

Race 8 – 6 furlongs, Purse $28,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
5 And Then Some – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; has good early speed and now trainer Mike Machowsky adding blinkers on.
11 Nusret – Showed good speed in his last two starts while facing strictly Cal-breds; that is a class drop after facing open company in his prior two starts.
Long Shot – 13 Redneck Crazy

Best Bet - 9 Patriotic Diamond (race 6)
Del Mar Sunday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 18/5/$52.00; Long Shots, 8/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
