TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

By Richard Eng

Post Time 7:05 p.m.

Race 1 - 6 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

8 U R My Candy Girl - Sliding down in maiden claiming class to the bottom; ran well enough in last to beat these slowpokes.

7 Disco Lemonade - Doug O’Neill barn has been hot of late, but mostly with Mario Gutierrez; this filly has Martin Pedroza up.

Long Shot - 6 Rich in Tradition

Race 2 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

2 Four Better - Peter Miller continues to dish out winners; eat another winner off his plate with this big drop down horse.

7 Rossi Reserve - Claimed by Javier Sierra after some good races for Vann Belvoir; well see how other person’s training works out.

Long Shot - 4 Wrinkle Room

Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

3 Tuckers Point - Has had 13 chances but never faced a field this slow; blinkers off for this Cody Autrey cull.

5 Stayo - Ran poorly in SoCal debut; not without excuses, poor start and checked mid-race, other than that it was no problem.

Long Shot - 6 One Mint Julep

Race 4 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $62,000, Allowance, 4-year-olds and up

6 Barocci - Gets class relief from the grade 2 American Handicap; repeat race would absolutely crush these.

5 Old Time Hockey - Has had some gaps in his resume of late; he may have slowed a step thus this much easier task.

Long Shot - 2 Temple’s Door

Race 5 - 7 furlongs, Purse $52,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds and up

8 Tom’s Tribute - Broke a step slow but ran OK the rest of the way; figures to improve with experience.

1 Blue Tone - Ran way too well to lose in last to Say Ow; like the cut back in distance from route to elongated sprint.

Long Shot - 5 Okaad

Race 6 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $35,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up

2 Strickly Class - John Sadler doesn’t win with a whole lot of FTS; this guy won for fun, but got taken by Craig Dollase.

3 Langfurs Lightning - Has been well bet in four starts since David Hofmans took over the training; should break thru soon.

Long Shot - 10 Currahee

Race 7 - 1 1/4 miles (turf, rail at 20 feet), $70,000 Lucie Manet, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Midnight Music - Tom Proctor ships in this good looking Euro mare; like the rider switch to Julien Leparoux, expect better.

2 Caelis - Gave a good account of herself as a long shot in the Santa Barbara; class relief from that grade 2 company.

Long Shot - 1 Miss Pippa

Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

1 Beautiful Spirit - Mario Gutierrez has been riding hot of late; note how patient he is and saves some horse for the end.

9 Scary Fast - Not seen in 15 months off a pop and stop debut; returns for a bottom level price tag, but from a live barn.

Long Shot - 4 Royal Weekend

Best Bet - 8 U R My Candy Girl (race 1)
