Horse Racing: Today at Hollywood Park, Nov. 29

TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

By Richard Eng

Post Time 12:30 p.m.

Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $22,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds

5 Hard Buns - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; Alonso Quinonez had choices too.

6 Sense of a Woman - Found her comfort level at this low maiden claiming class; tactical speed to sit a decent trip.

Long Shot - 1 Diamond Flush

Race 2 - 1 1/4 miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $48,000, Optional claiming 440,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

3 Quaintly - Lost all chance at the start last time out; class relief from graded stakes for this.

4 Glowing Spirit - Only filly running for a $40K price tag in here; she appears worth the money on the claim.

Long Shot - 2 Salez

Race 3 - 7 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, 3-year-olds and up

3 Max Cooper - Dreadful run in last on turf; like that Rafael Bejarano remains loyal and Jerry Hollendorfer puts blinkers on.

1 Half Dome Dude - Respect for John Sadler on the drop, even though this one looks crappy; watch the tote board for clues.

Long Shot - 9 Streets of Heaven

Race 4 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $18,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

6 Malusita - Short priced chalk has the speed to lead or follow close up; big class drop can only help her cause.

8 Vee - Beat cheaper in last, but is one of the few moving up in class; might be sharp enough to step up in a bad race.

Long Shot - 4 Dynamic Diva

Race 5 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $25,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

7 Toluca - Jeff Mullins is having a real hot meet in Inglewood; watch the tote board, this one could come up hot.

1 Miss Communication - Speed and the rail are always dangerous on this turf course; will like the turf rail out 15 feet tonight.

Long Shot - 8 English Rhythm

Race 6 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds and up

8 Indian Gods - Bob Baffert has an uncoupled entry; this one looks easier to like versus the favorite The Brain.

1 The Brain - Talk about underachieving; Bob Baffert colt has been well bet all three races without graduating.

Long Shot - 3 Wild Media

Race 7 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $52,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Mamma Kimbo - Grade 2 winner from Bob Baffert; hasn't started since the Black Eyed Susan at Pimlico, could need one.

2 Sister Moon - John Sadler bullet returns off a 6-month hiatus; this is a stakes caliber field in an allowance race.

Long Shot - 3 Vision in Gold

Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $30,000, Maiden claiming $75,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds

8 Lady Katfish - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; need not be much to handle these.

7 She's a Go Girl - Beaten favorite ran a good second in last fighting lesser lights; repeat race gives her a puncher's chance.

Long Shot - 6 Irish Presence

Best Bet - 3 Quaintly (race 2)

Hollywood Park Sunday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 20/3/$15.60; Long Shots, 10/4/$40.00; Best Bet, 1/0/$0

Hollywood Park Totals - 204/54/$354.60; Long Shots, 104/16/$183.80; Best Bets, 12/5/$22.40

SIMULCAST PLAY OF THE DAY - #8 Schillerette (4/1) in race 4 at Aqueduct. For scoring purposes, we'll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Sunday, Commandante ran second at Aqueduct paying $3.10 to place and $2.30 to show. Stats - 175/120/$1,042.40; Follow him on Twitter: @richeng4propick
