Horse Racing: Today at Santa Anita, May 30

Post Time 3 p.m.

Race 1 - 1 mile, Purse $19,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

1 Eltoninadress - Claimed by Adam Kitchingman off a sharp win; Santa Anita is clearly her favorite SoCal racetrack.

4 Acute - Ran last out like a horse that needed a race; like that top rider Joe Talamo accepts the mount.

Long Shot - 5 Zees Chris

Race 2 - 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds

7 Lucky Logan - Bullet workouts and excellent clocker reports precede his debut; from the live Peter Miller barn.

6 Big Swag - Has been working fast enough in the a.m. to merit attention; Dan Hendricks already debuted a fast baby last week.

Long Shot - 3 Nardo

Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up

4 Midnight Mayhem - Tiny edge in a really awful looking field; the key is dropping down to this bottom level.

6 Stauffenberg - Has tried 12 times to graduate; getting a little long in the tooth, but never faced a group this slow.

Long Shot - 8 Yodeling

Race 4 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $25,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Gelila - A top betting angle is the no claim rule; she is protected for Rafael DeLeon, thus this is a free shot off the shelf.

5 Gia Is a Bella - Returns from a year hiatus, but is not protected in here; taking a huge class drop to run for $25K.

Long Shot - 6 Belonging

Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

5 Fanny Brice - Despite a win in a condition $25K claimer, is dropped further to $16K; similar effort can win right back.

2 Spooky Lady - Ran last time like a horse getting a test drive; figures to be sharper today while taking a class plunge to boot.

Long Shot - 6 Tribal Peace

Race 6 - 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

6 Hijra - Got a nice test drive down the hillside turf course in her U.S. debut; she stretches out which is her preferred distance.

8 Nickels Wild - Has run OK on turf, half her 8 starts finished in the money; tactical speed to sit a good trip throughout.

Long Shot - 4 Winning Rhythm

Race 7 - 6 furlongs, Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

5 Lemon de Oro - Speedball ran like a short horse in last; second start off a 6-month sabbatical.

1 Miss Radiance - She has no early speed, but can get a ground saving trip; will hope for a rapid early pace to close into.

Long Shot - 2 Sagebrush Queen

Race 8 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 30 feet), Purse $31,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds and up

4 Tribal Dude - Been away a full year, but returns for a high price tag of $50K; tactical speed aided by the turf rail out 30 feet.

5 Warrior’s Ridge - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; one race down the hill was a good second.

Long Shot - 1 Navarre

Best Bet - 5 Fanny Brice (race 5)

Santa Anita Park Monday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 17/5/$61.00; Long Shots, 8/1/$4.00; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
