Cheyenne tops Mojave in boys soccer

Frank Barnes scored twice to lead the Cheyenne boys soccer team to a 4-1 road victory over Mojave on Tuesday.

Mitch Hawk and Geovany Martinez each added a goal for the Desert Shields. Chris Gorges scored for the Rattlers.

At Del Sol, Angel Savila had a goal and an assist as the Dragons beat Foothill, 2-0.

Mario Ovalle added a goal, and Evan Fast recorded the shutout.

At Centennial, Kevin Rogge and Alex Medel each had a goal as the Bulldogs defeated Arbor View, 2-0.

Goalie Chey McDonald recorded the shutout for Centennial.

At Tech, the Roadrunners broke a scoreless halftime tie with three second-half goals en route to a 3-0 win over Liberty.

Edgar Velazquez recorded a goal and an assist and combined on the shutout with Edgar Preciado. Esteban Corona and Anthony Hernandez also scored for Tech.

At Green Valley, Silverado’s Esau Salazar scored the lone goal to lead the Skyhawks past the Gators, 1-0.

At Shadow Ridge, Chad Rigler scored both goals in Cimarron-Memorial’s 2-1 win over the Mustangs. Max Garcia scored for Shadow Ridge.

At Legacy, Christian Rodriguez had two goals as the Longhorns blanked Palo Verde, 3-0.

Gerardo Acero also scored for Legacy, and Justin Hanselman assisted on all three goals.

Edwin Cisneros made four saves in earning the shutout.

At Basic, Edgar Arizmendi scored both goals in the Wolves’ 2-1 win over Coronado.

Arizmendi’s second goal, midway through the second half, broke a 1-1 tie.

Max Gunderson scored for Coronado.

At Overton, Ryan Struve’s second goal of the game, with 30 seconds remaining in the second half, pulled Boulder City into a 4-4 tie with Moapa Valley.

Charlie Corrales and James Andrade also scored for Boulder City.

Anton Zander, Rigo Hernandez, Luis Garcia and Josh Witter each scored for Moapa Valley.

At Community Park, Wade Norman scored two goals as Faith Lutheran blanked Pahrump Valley, 4-0.

Jim Sullivan and Mike Amico also scored for the Crusaders.

Marc Davies earned the shutout, making five saves.

At Mesquite, Joel Medina scored three goals to lead Virgin Valley to a 3-1 victory over The Meadows.

James Pollock scored the other goal, and Jordan Brown had two assists for the Bulldogs.

Alex Karabachev scored for the Mustangs.


At Pahrump, the Trojans and Faith Lutheran played to a 1-1 tie.

Brittany Orr scored for Pahrump Valley, and Hannah Stevens scored for the Crusaders.
