UNLV 60, Air Force 50

Kendall Wallace hit four 3-pointers early in the second half to rally UNLV to a 60-50 victory over Air Force at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Falcons, who have lost 22 straight Mountain West Conference games, never trailed in the first half and led by as many as nine points.

Wallace, who finished with 12 points, made four 3s in a five-minute span to turn around the game. His last 3 put UNLV up 39-34 with 13:07 remaining.

Tre’Von Willis scored 13 points and Chace Stanback had 12 for the Rebels (17-4, 5-2 MWC).

UNLV junior guard Derrick Jasper injured his left knee with 1:16 remaining in the first half. Jasper, who needed surgery on the same knee two years ago, had to be helped off the floor.

Air Force 24, UNLV 21 (halftime)

Tom Fow made three 3-pointers to lift Air Force to a 24-21 halftime lead over UNLV at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Falcons, 0-5 in the Mountain West Conference, never trailed and led by as many as nine points.

Fow’s 3-pointer, his second of the game, put the Falcons ahead 17-10 with 6:37 remaining. Fow hit another 3 to push the lead to 22-13 with just over three minutes left.

Tre’Von Willis, UNLV’s leading scorer at 17.6 points per game, scored just four points.

The Rebels were held to their lowest first-half scoring total of the season. UNLV’s previous low was 25 points against Southern California on Dec. 25.

To make matters worse for the Rebels, junior guard Derrick Jasper injured his left knee with 1:16 remaining. Jasper, who needed surgery on the same knee two years ago, had to be helped off the floor.
