Colts linebacker arrested for allegedly assaulting pizza delivery driver

Indianapolis Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson has been arrested for simple assault after an altercation over a parking spot in Washington, D.C.

Television station ABC7 in Washington reported Jackson and a pizza delivery driver argued over a parking spot Tuesday night, which led to Jackson throwing two punches to the driver’s head. An ambulance arrived to the scene but the alleged victim did not go to the hospital, according to the report.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers responded around 8 p.m. to a call about a disturbance. After an investigation, officers determined that Jackson assaulted another man and placed Jackson under arrest.

The police said Jackson was transported to the department’s third district and released later that night, with a notice to appear in court at a later date.

Jackson intercepted New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the AFC Championship Game, which reportedly led to the beginning of the so-called Deflategate controversy.

Jackson finished the 2014 regular season with 140 tackles and four sacks. He signed with the Colts last spring after his release from the Cleveland Browns, agreeing to a five-year deal worth about $22 million.
