CSN hires new baseball coach

The College of Southern Nevada on Tuesday hired Green Valley High School baseball coach Nick Garritano to replace Chris Sheff, who was relieved of his duties last week.

Garritano will serve as interim coach for the coming season, until a search for a permanent replacement occurs in accordance with college policies and procedures, according to a news statement released by CSN.

Garritano on Tuesday resigned his position at Green Valley to take the College of Southern Nevada post.

"I hope to build upon this program's great reputation in the baseball community," Garritano said in the statement.

While at Green Valley, Garritano guided the Gators to two state titles and had a career record of 315-118-1 during his 12-year tenure at the high school.
