Doxtator, Boykin hook up twice, lift No. 9 Foothill to opening win

Drew Doxtator threw three touchdown passes to carry ninth-ranked Foothill to a 45-28 victory over visiting Durango on Thursday in the season-opening game for both teams.
Doxtator, who completed 10 of 20 passes for 254 yards, connected with Tyren Boykin on scoring passes of 4 yards in the second quarter and 45 yards in the first two minutes of the second half.
Kyle Keplinger turned Doxtator's screen pass into a 68-yard touchdown later in the third as the Falcons opened a 38-14 lead. Keplinger compiled 155 yards on three receptions.
Jarett Arcangel rushed for touchdowns of 16 and 3 yards in the first quarter, the second coming on the final play of the quarter. Naim Muhammad had a 63-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for Foothill, which outgained Durango, 438-274.
The Falcons' Jake Winters returned an interception 4 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Durango's Scott Martinez threw two touchdown passes, hitting Marques Herrera on a 16-yard strike late in the second quarter and finding Arie McQuaig on a shovel pass that went for 55 yards.
McQuaig completed the scoring on a 1-yard run with less than 90 seconds remaining. McQuaig gained 108 yards on 16 carries for the Trailblazers.
