Encarnacion paces 51s to blowout win vs. Grizzlies

For the second straight night, the 51s exploded on offense, scoring all their runs in the first five innings of a 14-3 victory over the host Fresno Grizzlies in a Pacific Coast League game Tuesday night.

Las Vegas (37-43), coming off a 13-7 win over Fresno (48-32) on Monday, scored five runs in both the first and third innings. In the first, Edwin Encarnacion had a two-run double, then scored on a throwing error, and Brian Dopirak added an RBI sacrifice fly.

Adam Calderone capped the inning with an RBI single, and Grizzlies pitcher Henry Sosa was then ejected after arguing with the home plate umpire.

Calderone highlighted the third inning with an RBI triple, and Encarnacion had a three-run homer in the fourth to give the 51s a 13-2 lead.

Encarnacion finished 3-for-5 with six RBIs and three runs. Rommie Lewis (1-2) got the win, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks, with two strikeouts.
