FISHING REPORT

• LAKE MEAD -- Boating anglers are finding success for stripers in the Vegas Arm using top-water lures. Boils have been reported at Boulder Beach, but few fish are being caught. Anchovies and live shad have been the baits of choice. Largemouth and smallmouth bass are taking top-water lures and plastics near points and rock fields. Catfish are showing up in creels as well.

• LAKE MOHAVE -- Fishing at Willow Beach was fair in the morning hours after Friday's trout plant. The fish bit on PowerBait, night crawlers, spinners, Super Dupers and marshmallows. One angler reported catching two double-digit-sized stripers down the river. Action at Cottonwood Cove picked up and is considered fair with stripers in the 2- to 6-pound range taking cut baits north of the cove. Catfish in the 2- to 4-pound range have been taking anchovies and PowerBait, typically at night. Largemouth bass have been hitting a variety of hardware, generally fished below the surface.

• LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Catfish have been taking night crawlers, chicken liver and stink baits fished on the bottom, and sunfish and bass have been found around structure in the ponds. NDOW plans to stock catfish July 9.

• KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Bass anglers have been successful targeting fish in the weeds. Trout fishing should slow as fish move deeper in warm weather.

• EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Anglers have been catching trout by fishing on the bottom or using a bobber with a leader below the surface. The best fishing has been in the morning using PowerBait, worms, lures and flies.

• ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing has slowed, but morning is the best time. Multicolored buggers fished with a bobber or strike indicator still are producing good-sized crappie near the back of the reservoir. Bass anglers have been catching largemouth with top-water lures in the evenings.
