FISHING REPORT

* LAKE MEAD -- Striped bass are hitting live shad and rainbow trout imitations throughout the area stretching from Hemenway to Boulder Harbor. Anglers still are catching small stripers in the Vegas Bay area, though the action has tapered off. Fishing activity has picked up in the Overton arm, with striped bass taking bait. The Nevada Department of Wildlife is planting trout each Friday at Hemenway, Boulder Harbor and Crawdad Cove.

* LAKE MOHAVE -- The Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery has suspended trout-stocking operations while the hatchery gets a physical. Fishing for trout and striped bass has slowed. Anglers fishing out of Cottonwood Cove have seen the action slow. Trolling with anchovies or other baits remains the most successful method.

* LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Despite recent trout plants, fishing has been sluggish at Sunset Park. The fish tend to stay along the west and east shorelines at the south end of the lake. Fishing has been good at Floyd Lamb Park. Bait options include mini marshmallows fished alone or combined with worms, PowerBait or PowerEggs and small spinners.

* EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Anglers are finding ice around the edges in the mornings. Brown trout have been aggressive and taking lures. So are tigers. Rainbows have been hitting spinners, worms and prepared baits.

* ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Echo should begin to freeze as temperatures drop. Try rainbow PowerBait, worms, mini marshmallows or spinners.

* KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Cold nighttime temperatures are producing ice around the edges in the early mornings. Trout fishing has been fair.
