Fishing Report

■ LAKE MEAD -- Fishing has been fair to good. Anglers are marking stripers deeper in the water from 30 to 90 feet. In the Vegas Wash Arm, stripers are chasing trout near the stocking sites. Most anglers are using trout-imitation swimbaits around Boulder Beach, Boxcar Cove and Crawdad Cove. The Overton Arm is producing stripers up to 4 pounds on shad-imitation swimbaits. Quality-size catfish are being caught, but largemouth and smallmouth bass are slowing. Trout were scheduled to be planted at Hemenway Harbor and Crawdad Cove on Tuesday.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Success has been reported at Cottonwood Cove using cut anchovies and sardines. Catfish are hitting cut anchovies and stink baits. Trout were scheduled to be planted Tuesday at Placer Cove and Powerline Cove. These also will be excellent locations for large stripers. Willow Beach continues to yield good trout. Anglers are using PowerBait, salmon eggs, small lures and flies to catch fish.

■ URBAN PONDS -- Floyd Lamb Park, Sunset Park, Lorenzi Park and Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City received trout Tuesday. Colder temperatures slowed fishing. Most anglers are landing fish using jigs, spoons and flies, and others are using worms and PowerBait.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Ice is forming on all reservoirs and is not safe to walk on.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Ice is forming and is not safe to walk on. The streams might provide good fishing.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- The reservoir is frozen, but the ice is not safe to walk on. Wildlife viewing is another relaxing activity during this transitional time.
