San Diego State’s Pumphrey named MW’s top offensive player

San Diego State running back Donnel Pumphrey was named the Mountain West offensive player of the week for his outstanding game against UNLV.

Pumphrey, who graduated from Canyon Springs High, rushed for 167 yards and four touchdowns in the 34-17 victory over the Rebels on Saturday.

San Diego State punter Joel Alesi was named special teams player of the week. Weston Steelhammer of Air Force intercepted three passes against Boise State was named defensive player of the week.
