Tim Tebow, Devon Still among final NFL players cut

The Philadelphia Eagles have released quarterback Tim Tebow among their moves to reduce the roster to 53 players by Saturday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, according to ESPN.

Tebow, 28, had appeared to win the competition for the third quarterback job when Matt Barkley was traded to the Arizona Cardinals, but it was not immediately known if the Eagles intended to sign a quarterback behind starter Sam Bradford and backup Mark Sanchez.

Tebow played in all four of the Eagles' preseason games, completing 21 of 36 passes with two touchdown passes and one interception.

The Cincinnati Bengals released defensive tackle Devon Still on Saturday, according to multiple reports.

Still, whose 5-year-old daughter Leah is battling cancer, was kept on the practice roster last year as a show of support by the team.

However, with Saturday's deadline to trim rosters to 53 players, the Bengals reportedly cut ties with Still as was iffy to make the team this summer.

Still re-signed with the Bengals in the offseason after not getting much attention as a free agent.

Leah's cancer is currently in remission. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Still and his daughter have five years of NFL health insurance regardless of his status.
