Gonzaga outlasts Air Force

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Kevin Pangos scored 23 points and Sam Dower added 16 points and eight rebounds -- all in the second half -- as Gonzaga grinded out a 70-60 victory over Air Force on Thursday night.

Todd Fletcher had 17 points for the Falcons (6-3), who played most of the way without leading scorer Michael Lyons, who went down in the opening minutes with an ankle injury.

With Gonzaga (9-2) trailing 38-37, Dower scored six straight points for the Bulldogs, who took a 46-44 lead with 10:39 remaining. Dower's three-point play with 7:52 left capped an 8-0 burst that put Gonzaga up, 54-46.

■ Iowa 81, Boise State 72 -- At Iowa City, Iowa, Devyn Marble and Aaron White each scored 18 points as the Hawkeyes (8-5) used a late 15-6 run to beat the Broncos, who were without leading scorer Anthony Drmic due to a sprained ankle.

Kenny Buckner led Boise State (9-4) with 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting.

■ San Diego State 81, Elon 55 -- At San Diego, Jamaal Franklin scored 19 points, including nine straight during a 13-0 second-half run, as the Aztecs (11-2) pulled away to defeat the Phoenix (7-4).

■ Texas Christian 85, Grambling State 53 -- At Fort Worth, Texas, Craig Williams had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Carlon Green scored 24 points as the Horned Frogs (8-4) snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the Tigers (0-9).

■ New Mexico 87, Missouri-Kansas City 62 -- At Albuquerque, N.M., Phillip McDonald and Drew Gordon each scored 18 points to carry the Lobos (10-2) past the Kangaroos (7-7).

■ Wyoming 80, Idaho State 56 -- At Pocatello, Idaho, Derrious Gilmore scored 18 points to lift the Cowboys (12-2) over the Bengals (2-9).

■ Colorado State 92, Northern Colorado 78 -- At Greeley, Colo., Dorian Green scored a career-high 36 points as the Rams (7-4) beat the Bears (3-8) for their first road win.
