Gorman’s Zimmerman contributes in U.S.’s gold-medal victory

The United States defeated Canada 113-79 on Tuesday to win the gold medal in the FIBA Americas Under-18 championship game in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Bishop Gorman High’s Stephen Zimmerman had nine points and nine rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench, and the Gaels’ Chase Jeter had two rebounds and no points after getting into early foul trouble and playing just nine minutes.

The USA, coached by Florida’s Billy Donovan, went 5-0 in the tournament.
