John-Ford Griffin's three-run homer keyed the 51s' four-run sixth inning that carried them to a 5-4 Pacific Coast League win over the Fresno Grizzlies on Friday in Fresno, Calif.
Terry Tiffee walked to lead off the sixth for Las Vegas (43-39), and John Lindsey followed with a double before Griffin's homer put the 51s up 4-3. Wilkin Ruan added a two-out RBI triple in the inning.
Tanyon Sturtze pitched out of a jam in the seventh to preserve the win. He entered with runners on second and third and one out and didn't give up a run.
Brett Harper hit a solo homer in the seventh for Fresno (35-45), and the 51s' Rene Rivera homered in the second.
Heath Totten (1-0), pitching his first game with the 51s since 2005, started and got the win. The ninth-year minor league veteran recently joined the team after his release this month from Rochester (N.Y.), the Twins' Triple-A affiliate, of the International League.
