HEAD OF THE CLASS

■ ARBOR VIEW -- Softball player Savanah Webster went 6-for-7 with a double and two RBIs in two wins. Boys track athlete Jordan Miller qualified for the Sunset Region meet in the shot put and discus.

■ BONANZA -- Baseball player Kris Bryant had five home runs and 14 RBIs in three victories. Girls track athlete Emily Adams won the 3,200-meter run at the Sunset Region Freshman-Sophomore Championships.

■ CENTENNIAL -- Softball player Alyssa Hotman went 7-for-8 with six RBIs in two wins. Baseball player Bryan Bonnell earned two pitching victories and went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

■ CHEYENNE -- Baseball player Jerraco Lindsey pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two earned runs, and hit a three-run homer against Centennial.

■ CIMARRON-MEMORIAL -- Boys track athlete Andrew Gubler won the shot put and discus in a meet with Shadow Ridge and The Meadows. Girls track athlete Cassidy Howard had a career-best throw of 32 feet, 7 inches in a meet with Shadow Ridge and The Meadows.

■ CORONADO -- Girls swimmer Alix Mertel won the 200-yard individual medley and was second in the 100 backstroke in a 162-143 win over Green Valley. Boys diver Tyler Greenwald placed second against Green Valley.

■ DESERT OASIS -- Boys golfer Soungjae Baek shot 77 to lead the Diamondbacks to first place in a Southwest League match. Softball player Briona Santovito batted .400 in three league games.

■ DURANGO -- Girls track athlete Tiarra Beville won the long jump, high jump and triple jump in a meet with Bonanza and Sierra Vista. Boys track athlete Donovan Smith had a mark of 19 feet, 6 inches in the long jump against Bonanza to qualify for the Sunset Region meet.

■ FAITH LUTHERAN -- Baseball player Bobby Burns went 8-for-13 with five RBIs and five runs in four games. Softball player Maya Barnes went 7-for-10 with two homers, a triple and 11 RBIs in three games.

■ GREEN VALLEY -- Softball player Alicia Firelein pitched a four-hitter against Basic in the Gators' 1-0 victory in eight innings. Baseball player Bobby Shiroky went 6-for-8 with five RBIs and four runs for the week and also earned a pitching victory.

■ HENDERSON INTERNATIONAL -- Softball player Kendal Short went 4-for-4 against Beatty. Baseball player Keenan Gladd-Brown went 7-for-8 for the week with two homers, a triple, a double, 13 RBIs and 12 runs.

■ LIBERTY -- Boys track athlete Zach Sanchez won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles at the Sunrise Freshman-Sophomore Championships. Softball player Breanna English went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBIs and two runs in an 11-5 win over Foothill.

■ MOAPA VALLEY -- Girls track athlete Jordan Chappell won the 800- and 1,600-meter runs in a meet with Canyon Springs and Las Vegas at The Meadows Invitational. Boys track athlete Bowen Call won the 300-meter hurdles in 41.94 seconds and placed second in the 110 hurdles at The Meadows Invitational.

■ PALO VERDE -- Boys volleyball player Nick Hipwell totaled 17 kills, five blocks, two aces and three digs in two matches. Softball player Lauryn Stover went 7-for-12 with three RBIs in three games.

■ SIERRA VISTA -- Boys track athlete Alec Demarrias qualified for the Sunset Region meet in the 1,600-meter run. Girls swimmer Nicole Phillips placed first in the 100-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke in a 133-84 win over Legacy.

■ SILVERADO -- Girls track athlete Keelana Peck qualified for the Sunrise Region meet in the long jump and triple jump. Boys volleyball player Kyle Divicino totaled 19 kills and eight blocks in two matches.

■ VALLEY -- Softball player Mickayla Romero pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk in a 5-0 victory over Del Sol. She also went 2-for-2 with a double and a run.
