• ARBOR VIEW -- Girls basketball player Ericka Lang totaled 14 points and 25 rebounds in four games at the Sierra Vista Invitational. Boys basketball player Pierson Heath had 23 points and 11 rebounds against Boulder City.
• BASIC -- Girls basketball player Lauren Johnson totaled 50 points in three games to lead the Wolves to wins over Faith Lutheran, Spring Valley and Cheyenne. Wrestler Abe Gonzales took eighth at 135 pounds at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
• BONANZA -- Boys basketball player Tomo Delp had 29 points against Eldorado. Girls basketball player Datril Beals had 21 points and was 8-for-11 from the field in a 49-41 win over Shadow Ridge.
• CENTENNIAL -- Boys basketball player Josh Hardy averaged eight points and five assists and hit two game-winning shots over the holiday break.
• CHAPARRAL -- Girls bowler Nichole Juarez improved her season average to 173. Boys bowler Andrew Gottlieb raised his season average to 199.
• CIMARRON-MEMORIAL -- Boys basketball player Mike Cutright totaled 211 points in nine tournament games, helping the Spartans place third at the Walter Wong Invitational in Honolulu and a second-place finish at the Sierra Vista Invitational. Girls basketball player Karyn Turner averaged 12 points during the Lady Wolves Holiday Tournament.
• CLARK -- Wrestler Amos Bailey won the 171-pound weight class at the Blackhawk Invitational in La Quinta, Calif., to improve his season record to 30-4.
• CORONADO -- Boys basketball player Chris Hatch had 25 points and 14 rebounds against Arbor View. Girls basketball player Courtney Whitaker averaged eight points, eight rebounds and two assists at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
• FAITH LUTHERAN -- Boys basketball player Diontea Wright averaged 19.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots and was named to the all-tournament team at the Vegas Valley Invitational.
• FOOTHILL -- Wrestler Peter Struzik went 5-0 at the Moapa Duals with two pins and two technical falls.
• LIBERTY -- Boys basketball player Kenneth Peters averaged 12.8 points in five games at the Sierra Vista Invitational.
• MOUNTAIN VIEW -- Girls basketball player Randall Van Kempen was named to the all-tournament team at the Vegas Invitational. Boys basketball player Max Chapple averaged 12 points in three games.
• PALO VERDE -- Boys basketball player David Rawlinson averaged 15 points and seven assists in three games. Girls basketball player Ashlyn Young averaged five rebounds, five steals and three assists at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
• SIERRA VISTA -- Girls basketball player Jeanette Jackson averaged 14 points and four assists as the Lions won the Sierra Vista Invitational. Wrestler Shane Slade placed second at 215 pounds at the 75-team Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
• SILVERADO -- Girls basketball player Jessica Schmidt averaged 19.2 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots at the Las Vegas Holiday Classic. Boys bowler Chris Howe had a 637 series and 254 game against Del Sol.
• SPRING VALLEY -- Wrestler Jerry Wu placed first at the Virgin Valley Tournament.
• TECH -- Boys basketball player Brandon Tiffany averaged 25.7 points and 5.2 assists and was named to the all-tournament team at the Vegas Invitational.
• VALLEY -- Boys basketball player Cordero Harris averaged 12.2 points and 10.4 rebounds to lead the Vikings to an 8-2 record. The team won the Sierra Vista Invitational and was second at the Las Vegas Prep Championship.
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK MALE Anthony Marshall Mojave The junior guard was named the Most Valuable Player of the Vegas Valley Invitational, leading the Rattlers to the tournament title. Marshall averaged 17.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.7 blocked shots and 4.0 steals, and he had 28 points, five blocks and six steals in the title game. FEMALE Alexis Byrd Centennial The sophomore guard was named the Most Valuable Player of the Las Vegas Holiday Classic, leading the Bulldogs to the title. She also had 26 points, eight steals and three assists in an 87-51 win over Mojave.
