Here’s an early look at UNLV’s new football field — PHOTO

UNLV has unveiled a new design for the football field at Sam Boyd stadium. It's Las-Vegas themed. And it's awesome.

In a nod to Sin City's colorful history, the field draws on imagery from the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, similar to the new uniforms the Rebels unveiled in April.

In addition to the iconic sign appearing in each end zone, diamonds reminiscent of the old Stardust sign will appear every 10 yards under the yard makers, with the 50-yard-line featuring a starburst from the "Welcome" sign.

UNLV says Coach Tony Sanchez had a hand in the design, along with UNLV graphic artist Ashley Seda.
