Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $12,500, 4-year-olds
You Is What You Is - Slides down the claiming ladder to this very winable spot; best stride will come late.
Warrens Flyin High - Beat cheaper in last in a confidence booster; runs consistent numbers for this low class.
Long Shot - Afleet's Design
Race 2 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, 4-year-olds and up
Steady Demand - Speedball will try and steal this on the front end; plays catch me if you can with these.
Frankelstein - If you had him last time at 21/1, today's price isn't so appetizing; should close down the hill.
Long Shot - Shadown of Illinois
Race 3 - 1 mile, Purse $16,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Keira's Way - Finished well last time to just miss in a sprint; stretches out around 2-turns against a slow group.
Skinny Dip - FTS from the Mike Mitchell barn must be respected with Rafael Bejarano up; watch the tote for clues.
Long Shot - First Contact
Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 8 feet), $125,000 Irish O'Brien, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Bel Air Sizzle - Was scratched on Saturday for this easier spot; first time down the hill, but she is classy.
Onebadkitty - Dead-heat upset win in last with today's favorite; she has tactical speed to sit a bit closer.
Long Shot - Christiana's Heat
Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $21,000, Claiming $20,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
South of France - Closer will see all the action inside of her; second start off a 3-month hiatus.
Nine to Dine - The race must come through this speedball; she will simply go as fast and as far as she can.
Long Shot - Call Aly
Race 6 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 8 feet), Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds
Faraday - Second time starter picks up the skills of Garrett Gomez; Peter Miller adds blinkers on, watch out.
Dapper Gene - Had to swallow a short price from a low percentage barn; ran well in last and is sitting on go.
Long Shot - Wagels
Race 7 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Claiming $25,000, 4-year-olds and up
Forest Phantom - Ran great off the claim by Jennie Green; has enough back class where a repeat race is possible.
Ukiah - Own worst enemy as he is a poor starter; figures to sit outside and make one wide sweeping move.
Long Shot - Taxi Fleet
Race 8 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 8 feet), $70,000 Pasadena, 3-year-olds
Smokey Lonesome - Makes his second start for Art Sherman; big rider switch to Victor Espinosa, offers a lot of value.
Hype - Logical chalk seems to find trouble and a reason to lose; bad luck can happen on grass with closers.
Long Shot - Leedstheway
Race 9 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
Only Be Cause - His better races have come in elongated sprints like this; figures to be grinding in the late stages.
Marcade - Even run in debut for John Sadler, where he did take some betting; expect normal improvement at a square price.
Long Shot - New York Baby
Best Bet - Bel Air Sizzle (race 4)
Santa Anita Friday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 19/4/$24.80; Long Shots, 10/2/$19.60; Best Bet, 1/1/$4.00
Santa Anita Totals - 947/224/$1,537.40; Long Shots, 467/74/$863.00; Best Bets, 55/22/$77.40
SIMULCAST PICK OF THE DAY - #4 Just Jenda (5/2) in race 9 at Oaklawn. For scoring purposes, we'll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Saturday, Old Fashioned ran second at Oaklawn paying $2.60 to place and $2.20 to show. Stats - 28/24/$162.60
