Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $24,000, Starter allowance $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Perfect Hostess - I like her pedigree best for handling grass; has finished fast in both her sprint starts.
Moscow Rising - Tepid chalk in a less than inspiring race; she is 3-for-4 in the money over turf.
Long Shot - Ms Toomsuba
Race 2 - 7 furlongs, Purse $16,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Mark of a Pirate - Leap of faith that Garrett Gomez is taking over for a reason; tactical speed to sit a trip.
Orientation Hall - Logical chalk runs just fast enough to finish second and third; remains the one to beat.
Long Shot - Winning Yield
Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $23,000, Claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up
Tour Da Bronx - Has come around since Mike Mitchell lowered his expectations; tactical speed to sit a trip.
Natural Touch - Claimed by Jack Carava, like that Garrett Gomez remains loyal; needs to hold his good form.
Long Shot - Tice
Race 4 - 7 furlongs, Purse $16,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Vital Force - Beaten favorite may have finally found his class level; like the wide post in an elongated sprint.
Magna Cum Laude - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; has some early lick.
Long Shot - No Thinkin Allowed
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $37,000, Claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds
Tommys Luck - I don't mind a parking lot post going down the hillside turf course; can rebound in this spot.
Lucky Honey - Reunited with Gomez who knows this colt well; one of the fastest closers in the stretch.
Long Shot - Honouramongfriends
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $44,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
Dream of Kaylee - Chased not one, but two stakes winners in debut; suspect this spot has to be easier.
Princeandrew - Blew a tire last time after an interesting debut; reunited with Tyler Baze, expect better.
Long Shot - Mr. Hot Stuff
Race 7 - 7 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Sure Thing Eva - Returns from a 9-month hiatus; John Sadler wins with all kinds so we'll take a leap of faith.
Harlene - Running first time for a claiming price; he's a sluggish sort who has not sprinted in a long time.
Long Shot - Victory Joe
Race 8 - 7 furlongs, $100,000 Cascapedia, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Highland Torre - Dead late closer should see a sizzling race shape to flatter her; moving fastest in the lane.
Quisiana - Has shown just a smidge of ability to rate; she won't want to duel early with some of these.
Long Shot - Foxy Danseur
Race 9 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $29,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Bright Moon - Final race of the meet could be a long price for Chantal Sutherland; closer is shortening up here.
Shebang - Tepid chalk in a wide open affair; claimed by the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer off a game win.
Long Shot - No Ka Oi
Best Bet - Tour Da Bronx (race 3)
Santa Anita Saturday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 22/4/$55.20; Long Shots, 10/1/$14.60; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
Santa Anita Totals - 430/100/$735.60; Long Shots, 208/27/$358.40; Best Bets, 24/8/$33.20
