November 23, 2013 - 10:28 pm
Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 6 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Claiming $10,000, 3-year-olds and up
6 Dunmore East - Rafael Bejarano is winning at 30 percent, unheard of at a major meet; he puts horses in the right place.
4 Macias - Sliding down the claiming ladder to face much easier; second start off a 6-month hiatus.
Long Shot - 2 Da Ruler
Race 2 - 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Julio’s Gold - Reclaimed by trainer Dan Hendricks, one of the best angles in racing; speed to lead from the inside.
7 Addendum - Draw a line thru last, a miserable try on turf; she’s a much better runner on synthetics, her preferred surface.
Long Shot - 6 No Tricks for Jack
Race 3 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $56,000, Allowance, Fillies, 3-year-olds
5 Need You Now - Mike Mitchell charge has good experience in turf routes in graded stakes; strictly the one to beat.
2 Judy In Disguise - Has only run at 1 mile twice despite a lengthy grass resume; can sit close to the pace if allowed.
Long Shot - 3 Include the Aussie
Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
7 Snuggley Bear - Woke up with a nice second last time under Joel Rosario; showed enough for Rafael Bejarano to take over.
2 Indianapolis - Bob Baffert has an uncoupled entry so caveat emptor; this one has already worked a million times up to now.
Long Shot - 5 Test Ride
Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds
5 Swiss Bliss - Claimed by Jack Carava and spotted nicely to win; his entry could run 1-2 against this motley crew.
1 Gabbiano - Jack Carava has an uncoupled entry in here so caveat emptor; sliding down the claiming ladder to low rung.
Long Shot - 7 Magic Number
Race 6 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
6 My Secret Affair - Has run two different kind of races, not sure which one we’ll see today; experience does matter too.
7 Arkenstone - Typical green debut, slow early, fast late; figures to move forward in second start for Dan Hendricks.
Long Shot - 3 Kozani
Race 7 - 7 1/2 furlongs, $100,000 On Trust Handicap, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up
6 Rousing Sermon - Did everything but win last time chasing Majestic City; like the parking lot post and the cut back too.
4 Cyclometer - Sprinter stretching out could provide the speed of the speed; key part will come in the final furlong.
Long Shot - 3 Compari
Race 8 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $48,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
3 Warren’s Rosebud - Interesting rider switch to Rafael Bejarano; has no speed going long, now cutting back in distance.
7 Hidethegoodstuff - Tepid chalk must overcome a parking lot post in a turf sprint; the early elbow helps the inside posts.
Long Shot - 6 Luxuriance
Race 9 - 6 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Amanda - Top choice by process of elimination; sometimes at this bottom level a horse just inherits the lead.
4 Sugar High Kaylin - In a race this slow, you need to look at the FTS; this one is from a live barn in Doug O’Neill.
Long Shot - 11 Winninginfashion
Best Bet - 6 Rousing Sermon (race 7)
Hollywood Park Saturday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 18/4/$25.40; Long Shots, 9/1/$9.60; Best Bet, 1/1/$7.40
