Hu, Lindsey go deep as 51s dodge doubleheader sweep

Chin-Lung Hu and John Lindsey homered Thursday to help the 51s to a 5-3 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and a split in their Pacific Coast League doubleheader in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Bob Keppel pitched the Sky Sox to a 3-1 win in the opener.
Lindsey hit his 17th homer of the year in the second inning of the second game. Hu's two-run homer in the third put Las Vegas (58-68) up 3-0.
The lead was 4-0 before Colorado Springs (63-63) scored twice in the fifth. The Sky Sox got as close as 4-3 on a solo homer by Joe Koshansky, who finished 3-for-3, but Tony Abreu's pinch-hit RBI single restored the 51s' two-run lead.
Jonathan Meloan (1-0) was the winning pitcher after working 1 1/3 innings in relief of starter Dwayne Pollok, who gave up two runs in 4 2/3 innings. Mike DeJean (0-3) lost.
Keppel (8-9) held Las Vegas to one run on five hits in six innings in the opener.
Omar Quintanilla's two-run double and Chris Iannetta's RBI single accounted for Colorado Springs' runs. Abreu had an RBI double for the 51s. Eric Cyr (3-4) lost after giving up three runs on six hits in six innings.
The teams are scheduled to play at 6:05 tonight to complete their five-game series.
Las Vegas 51s
