Hunt, Silva fight to majority draw on UFC card

Heavyweights Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva fought to a majority draw after five rounds Friday in the main event of an Ultimate Fighting Championship card in Brisbane, Australia.

Hunt and Silva each had chances to finish a violent, back-and-forth affair that left both fighters exhausted and oozing blood after 25 highly entertaining minutes.

Former light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua folded up James Te-Huna with a short left hook about a minute into their fight to snap a two-fight losing streak. Reno native Ryan Bader dominated Anthony Perosh on his way to a unanimous decision, landing 156 shots in 15 minutes to 11 for Perosh in another light heavyweight bout.

In other UFC news, a light heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and former champion Rashad Evans was announced as the main event for UFC 170 at Mandalay Bay on Feb. 22.

Cormier will be dropping from heavyweight to make his debut at 205 pounds.
