American Vonn wins again, boosts Olympic downhill hopes

In three weeks, the only things that will matter for Lindsey Vonn will be gold, silver or bronze.

Saturday, however, was a day for milestones in Cortina D'Ampezzo, Italy.

Vonn made it five wins in five downhills this season. Her 30th World Cup victory tied her with Croatia's Janica Kostelic for eighth place on the career list, nearly halfway to Austrian leader Annemarie Moser-Proell's 62 wins.

"It's crazy. When she was dominating the World Cup, I thought she was unbeatable," Vonn said of Kostelic. "She was so good -- too good -- and I don't really see myself as the person that's got the same amount of wins that she has. She is just as big a legend in ski racing as Moser-Proell or (Renate) Goetschl. She's a huge name."

Goetschl is third on the list at 46 and has the record for wins at one venue -- 10 in Cortina. Vonn also won Friday's super-G and now has three victories at the most prestigious stop on the women's circuit.

Also: The Wranglers gave up three third-period goals, losing to the Idaho Steelheads 4-1 in an ECHL game in Boise.

Shay Stephenson had the lone goal for Las Vegas (17-19-4) early in the third, cutting Idaho's lead to 2-1, but the Steelheads (26-11-2) shut out the Wranglers from there and netted two more goals.

Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury went through a full practice and is expected to start today in Philadelphia.

Fleury, a member of the Canadian Olympic team, has missed three games with a broken ring finger on his left hand. He is using a different type of glove that accommodates a splint on the broken finger.

Florida Panthers right wing Nathan Horton, who has 17 goals and 29 assists in 51 games this season, will miss four to six weeks with a fractured tibia.

Panthers general manager Randy Sexton said Horton's injury doesn't require surgery. Some of his recovery will occur during the NHL's Olympic break in February, which Sexton called a "silver lining."

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed point guard Cedric Jackson to a 10-day contract. The move was prompted by injuries to Mo Williams and Delonte West in the past few days. The team lost Williams to a sprained shoulder and West to a broken finger.

Williams is out for at least one month, and the club doesn't know how long it will be without West. He was injured in Thursday's win over the Lakers -- his first start replacing Williams.
