Ex-porn actress reveals texts from Woods, his fantasies

A former porn actress released sexually graphic text messages Thursday that she says prove her affair with Tiger Woods, and she said she may reveal more potentially embarrassing information about the golfer as he prepares to return to competition next month.

Joslyn James, whose real name is Veronica Siwik-Daniels, posted more than 100 messages on her Web site that she says came from Woods.

Some of the messages show a desire for rough sex. In a message from Aug. 29, the person she says is Woods says he wants to slap her and that she should beg the next time he sees her.

The messages, released two days after Woods announced he would play at the Masters at Augusta National in Georgia, could be a distraction.

A request for comment from a Woods spokesman was not returned.

An NCAA investigation that began more than two years ago determined that former golf coach Rich Merritt bought athletes beer, paid for meals and lodging and helped cover expenses for one to fly to Colorado to try to qualify for the U.S. Open.

UNR athletic director Cary Groth suspended Merritt for three matches after an internal probe confirmed the allegations regarding meals and the $300 airline ticket. He resigned in May 2008.

Garrett Willis made the most of a sponsor exemption to his hometown event, making birdies on five holes on the back nine for a 6-under-par 65 and a two-shot lead after the first round of the Transitions Championship at Palm Harbor, Fla.

Chargers trade little-used
QB Whitehurst to Seahawks

The San Diego Chargers have traded third-string quarterback Charlie Whitehurst to the Seattle Seahawks.

Whitehurst has never thrown a pass in the NFL and has played in only two games, both as a rookie in 2006. Yet Seattle swapped its second-round pick in next month's draft, allowing the Chargers to move up 20 spots to No. 40 overall, to take San Diego's 60th choice.

The Seahawks also gave San Diego a 2011 pick, believed to be a third-rounder.

The Seahawks' current starter, three-time Pro Bowl passer Matt Hasselbeck, is 34 and entering the final year of his contract.

Also: Former NFL wide receiver Rocket Ismail has a new job in bull riding.

Ismail will serve as a correspondent for some of the Professional Bull Riders telecasts on cable channel Versus. He became interested in the sport when he took part in "Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge" on CMT.

The former Notre Dame star played nine seasons in the NFL, making 363 catches for 5,295 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Two days after joining the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade, Darryl Tapp signed a three-year contract. The 25-year-old Tapp will compete for a starting spot at left defensive end after playing four seasons in Seattle.

Mayweather, Mosley agree
to Olympic-style drug testing

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and welterweight champion Shane Mosley will undergo Olympic-style drug testing for their May 1 fight at the MGM Grand, which they hope will set a new standard for boxing.

Representatives of the two fighters joined Travis Tygart of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency on a conference call to discuss the program, which is more extensive than the testing that currently falls under the jurisdiction of state athletic commissions.

Mayweather and Mosley will be subjected to an unlimited number of unannounced blood and urine tests before and after the fight, and the results will be stored so USADA can test them in the future. The samples are screened for all drugs currently banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, including human growth hormone and designer steroids like THG.

Most state athletic commissions test only urine samples, which Tygart said cannot detect at least four performance-enhancing substances, including HGH.
