Jones fuels 51s to victory vs. Redbirds

Mitch Jones continued his power surge, helping the 51s earn a 4-2 Pacific Coast League victory over the Memphis Redbirds on Tuesday in Memphis, Tenn.
Jones hit a two-run homer in the first inning, his fifth home run in the past seven games, giving him a league-leading 19 for the season.
In the third inning, Matt Kemp homered to increase his hitting streak to 14 for Las Vegas (27-31). Octavio Martinez had an RBI single in the sixth.
Starter William Juarez (2-2) allowed one run on six hits in six innings, with no walks and four strikeouts.
Mike Parisi (4-4) allowed all four runs for the Redbirds (27-33).
