Lawrie powers 51s to win over Aces

Brett Lawrie homered leading off consecutive innings, and the 51s scored the final six runs of the game Wednesday night, rallying from a 3-1 deficit to beat the host Reno Aces 7-3 in a Pacific Coast League game.
Las Vegas used a three-run sixth inning to pull ahead, then scored two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth. Brett Lawrie led off the sixth with a home run. Manny Mayorson added a bases-loaded single, and Brian Jeroloman followed with a walk to score Chris Woodward.
In the seventh, Lawrie hit his second solo shot, and David Cooper followed with a double. One out later, Cooper scored from third on a Woodward single to put Las Vegas up 6-3.
The 51s capped the scoring when Cooper drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth to plate Darin Mastroianni.
Lawrie finished 3-for-4, with the two homers, a double and walk. Cooper went 2-for-4 with two runs, Adam Loewen went 2-for-5 with a homer and two runs, and Woodward was 2-for-5 with a run.
Chad Beck (1-0) got the win, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings. Ronald Uviedo, Sean Henn and Danny Farquhar combined for four innings of scoreless relief.
