Lindsey’s three homers boost 51s to victory

John Lindsey hit three home runs and drove in seven runs Saturday to lead the 51s to a 10-3 Pacific Coast League win over the Portland Beavers at PGE Park in Portland, Ore.

Lindsey had a two-run homer in the second inning, a three-run shot in the third and a two-run blast in the fifth, giving him seven homers this season. He flied out to deep center field in his other plate appearance.

Andy LaRoche walked immediately ahead of two of Lindsey's homers and had an RBI single for Las Vegas (21-21), which halted a three-game losing streak.

51s starter Jason Johnson (5-2) held the Beavers (19-21) to one earned run on eight hits and no walks in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out six.

Brian Myrow had two RBI singles for Portland. Jason Repko and Terry Tiffee each had two hits for Las Vegas.
