Lollis torches 51s again in River Cats’ win

For the past two seasons, Ryan Lollis has made a habit of beating up on 51s pitching.

It was more of the same Friday night, as Sacramento’s first baseman broke open a scoreless game in the fifth inning, giving the River Cats a lead they wouldn’t relinquish in a 5-3 victory at Raley Field in Sacramento, California.

Lollis’ triple to right drove in two runs in the River Cats’ five-run inning.

Sacramento tacked on three more runs in the inning on a Miguel Olivo RBI single and a two-run homer from Jarrett Parker, all off Las Vegas starter Duane Below.

The 51s got a run back in the sixth off Sacramento starter Chris Stratton on a Marc Krauss home run, but they could do little else against him, scratching out three hits in seven innings.

They showed signs of life in the ninth inning, scoring two runs on a Gavin Cecchini double and bringing the tying run to the plate, but ultimately they dropped their third straight game.
