Michael Jordan says he could still beat NBA players in one-on-one games

In mid-May, a national sports poll revealed that 34 percent of Americans believe Michael Jordan, who is 52, could beat LeBron James in a game of one-on-one if they played today. Jordan probably believes the same thing.

During a recent interview in France, Jordan, the Charlotte Hornets owner, told French sports outlet L’Equipe that he believes he still can beat all the players on his team one-on-one.

“I’m pretty sure I can, so I don’t want to do that and demolish their confidence,” Jordan said. “So I stay away from them, I let them think they’re good … but I’m too old to do that anyway.”

Let them think they’re good? Luckily for Jordan, his players probably won’t hear about his comments since he made them in France, right?

While Jordan probably won’t inspire his players with insults, he might be right about still being better than them. Despite playing in the woeful Eastern Conference, the Hornets missed the playoffs last season with a 33-49 record.
