Celine Dion shines during Paris Couture Fashion Week

Celine Dion is singing the praises of pop star Pink, who has written a song to help the Caesars Palace headliner move past a tragedy-filled year.

Dion revealed Pink’s gesture during an interview in Paris last week, where she was expected to wrap up her European tour Saturday night. She also attended the Paris Couture Fashion Week.

“I’m already starting to work on an English album,” Dion told “Entertainment Tonight.”

“Pink wrote me a song,” Dion added. “She is phenomenal. I love her for her talent, for her strength, for her focus, the person she is.”

Dion thanked Pink, the wife of former freestyle motocross racer Carey Hart, during a meeting at the Billboard Music Awards May 22 at the T-Mobile Arena.

“When I saw her, I said, ‘For you to take the time to really write a song, to give me a tool, a piece of luggage to help me to move forward, to walk, to keep going …

“It’s called ‘Recovering,’” Dion said, adding “get ready,” a hint that the song will be on the English album she’s working on.

It has been a year of heartache for Dion, whose husband and longtime manager Rene Angelil, 73, died Jan. 14 at their home in Henderson after a long battle with cancer. Two days later, her brother, Daniel Dion, 59, died in a Montreal suburb.

The new album may also include a song sent to her by Prince. In an interview at the Billboards, Dion said Prince sent her a song about the death of David Bowie.

Prince died April 21, a month before the Billboards.

The Paris visit was a triumphant one for Dion, who created a sensation with her bold new style choices. The man behind her transformation is new stylist Law Roach, whose clients include former Disney star Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Ruby Rose, Willow Shields and Skai Jackson.

According to Elle magazine, Roach said Dion found him by Googling for the name of Zendaya’s stylist. Roach attended Dion’s show the week of the Billboards and met with her the day after the awards show.

“And the very next day,” Roach told Elle, “they offered me a job and were like, ‘Well, can you come to Paris with Celine for a month?’”

Dion was making her first appearance at Paris Haute Couture Week since 2007, raising speculation she was doing research for the clothing line she’s launching in 2017.

KERBER’S VEGAS VISIT

The legacy of Steffi Graf loomed large over Saturday’s Serena Williams-Angelique Kerber duel for Wimbledon’s women’s finals.

With a win, Williams would tie Graf’s modern-era record of 22 Grand Slam titles.

Chris Evert, now an ESPN analyst, shared a fascinating story last week as Williams and Kerber moved into the finals.

Kerber was at a low point late last year and turned to Graf, a fellow German. Kerber flew to Las Vegas and spent three days hitting balls with Graf.

Kerber told Evert she got a confidence boost from the meeting. It paid off with two victories within a month, including a stunning win over Williams in the Australian Open in January. That denied Williams her 22nd Grand Slam title. But Williams was not to be denied again, defeating Kerber 7-5, 6-3 Saturday.

Then there’s the Darren Cahill connection. Cahill, 50, found his niche as a coach and helped Andre Agassi become the oldest player ever ranked world No. 1 in May 2003, at age 33.

Cahill, who lives in Las Vegas part time, is also an ESPN analyst and he’s coaching rising Romanian star Simona Halep, who entered Wimbledon ranked No. 5 in the world. Halep lost to No. 4 Kerber in the quarterfinals.
