IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon is transported by helicopter to University Medical Center after he was gravely injured in a 15-car pileup at the IZOD IndyCar World Championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas on Oct. 16, 2011. Wheldon later died due to his injuries.
