Gaughan returns to truck series on full-time basis

Las Vegan Brendan Gaughan will drive a full season for Richard Childress Racing next year in the NASCAR Camping
World Truck Series.

Gaughan will drive the No. 62 Chevy, which is sponsored by South Point. He competed in eight trucks races this year, finishing in the top 10 five times.

He also spent time in the Sprint Cup and Nationwide series. Gaughan is scheduled to compete in two Nationwide events next season, including the March 9 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"I'm thrilled to be back in the truck series for a full season," Gaughan said. "I would have been thankful to compete full time for Richard Childress Racing in any series, but returning to the trucks will provide me a second chance to go out and win the truck series championship that was stolen from me in 2003."

A late crash denied him the 2003 title.
