Top Fuel dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars make the most noise at drag races with their 8,000-horsepower, supercharged engines. They capture the most attention at NHRA national tour events such as this weekend's NHRA Las Vegas Nationals.
But NHRA Sportsman racers in Stock and Super Stock, categories that feature American muscle cars from a bygone era, account for 208 of the 520 entries in the event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway that continues today and runs through Sunday's championship eliminations.
