Mountain Ridge LL stays unbeaten

Mountain Ridge Little League rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Encinitas, representing Southern California, 8-4 Wednesday at the Little League West Regionals in San Bernardino, Calif.

Mountain Ridge finished pool play at 4-0 and will play Southern California again at 2 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.

Zachary Hare, Brendan Holligan and Austin Kryszczuk were the hitting stars for the Nevada state champs as Hare went 3 for 4 with a solo home run in the top of the third inning, Holligan was also 3 for 4 with two RBI and Kryszczuk hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth as Mountain Ridge banged out 10 hits against the Southern California champions.

Mountain Ridge scored twice in the third and added four more in the top of the fourth as Bradley Stone doubled in two runs to give the Las Vegas team its first lead. Mountain Ridge added to its lead with two in the top of the sixth as Krsyzczuk homered for the second day in a row. He had a grand slam Tuesday in the 13-2 win over Pacifica, Calif.

Hare picked up the win, pitching three innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four.
