No. 21 Saint Mary’s pulls away from Brigham Young

PROVO, Utah -- Brad Waldow scored 19 points and Clint Steindl added 16 off the bench to carry No. 21 Saint Mary's to an 80-66 victory over Brigham Young on Saturday night.

Rob Jones had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Gaels (21-3, 10-0 West Coast). Matthew Dellavedova scored 10.

Steindl scored 14 points in the first half when he made his first four 3-point attempts. He finished 4-of-6 on 3s.

Saint Mary's used a 10-0 run to build a 40-28 halftime lead, and stretched the margin to 23 points in the second half. BYU got no closer than nine after that.

The Cougars (18-6, 6-3) were led by Noah Hartsock and Matt Carlino, who scored 15 points. Brandon Davies added 14 points and seven rebounds.

■ UNR 65, Louisiana Tech 63 -- At Ruston, La., Olek Czyz tied his season high with 24 points and converted the decisive three-point play as the Wolf Pack (18-3, 7-0 Western Athletic) held off the Bulldogs for their 15th consecutive victory.

Czyz also grabbed 10 rebounds for UNR, which has the NCAA's second-longest active winning streak, trailing unbeaten Murray State's 21-game run. Malik Story added 16 points for the Wolf Pack and Dario Hunt had 11 rebounds.

Raheem Appleby scored 17 to lead Louisiana Tech (11-11, 3-4).
