Patriots’ Gronk sends teen cleats, writes ‘stay hyped, get chicks’ on them

While doing a little spring cleaning recently, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski discovered he had a surplus of size-16 cleats and announced on Twitter that he wanted to give them away.
“If you are a high school football player and size 16 shoot me a mention and I’ll ship ya some sick nike cleats and shoes!” Gronk posted.
Riley Held, who plays at East Longmeadow (Mass.) High School, was the lucky recipient.
“I’m a Junior TE from MA who reps the 87 and wears size 16. Bless me with some shoes/cleats,” he posted.
Replied Gronk, “i got you man!! You represent 87!! Inbox me your address! Shipping out in 20 minutes!”
After receiving the prized shoes as promised, Held was more thrilled with the inspirational message that Gronk wrote on them: Stay hyped! Get chicks!
“Secretly the best thing to come of this is Gronk’s quote that he wrote on the signed shoes #StayHyped #Get Chicks,” Held posted.
Words to live by.
Gronk, who was recently caught on tape by TMZ at a club in Charleston, S.C., motorboating one patron before leading a “Free Brady!” chant while dancing shirtless — naturally — told DuJour Magazine that his fun-loving ways don’t detract from his dedication to football.
“There’s definitely a time to party and a time to focus on work, but you need to let loose a little bit so that you can go back on Monday feeling refreshed and motivated to work hard again,” the 26-year-old said. “People act like dancing is breaking the law and partying is a crime. Everyone thinks I’m in trouble 24/7, but what have I really done besides dance?”
Gronk also has a healthy philosophy about drinking.
“My drink is usually vodka with water because it gets you hydrated and drunk at the same time,” he said.
Makes perfect sense.
