Patriots player helps rescue woman from rollover accident

New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork helped rescue a woman from her car after it had rolled over near Gillette Stadium following the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, Massachusetts State Police said.

Wilfork, who is 6 feet 2 and 325 pounds, lifted the woman out of the Jeep Wrangler as police held the driver’s door open, according to the report.

“I saw somebody that needed help and I helped,” Wilfork told the Boston Herald on Monday.

The woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Wilfork and the Patriots beat the Indianapolis Colts 45-7 to advance to the Super Bowl, where they will play the Seattle Seahawks on Feb. 1.
